Even though the COVID epidemic has us nervously anticipating the success or hardships this season may bring, we are using this time to work work work work. Moving pigs, building new chicken tractors, putting plastic on our new hoophouse, garden prep, seed starting, new chicks are in the brooder & the to-do list barely looks touched! But all is well, patience is a virtue & as organic farmers we know that the work must go on even when the brain won't keep quiet! Stay safe everyone!
We are now closed to on-farm visitors, however we are doing home-delivery of orders $30+ regionally. Shop our online store today! Frozen organic chicken cuts still available, fresh chicken back in June!
In leiu of the Corona Virus, my grand plan for 2020 is in fast motion. I am using this year, being the third official year I have owned and operated Hiddenview Farm- to get a grip of my financials and business plan, enterprise budgets, projections, feasability studies... reaching out to all my resources I have fought to find, and am a caterpillar of organic agriculture in upstate NY. With a vision that includes a farm based learning center, with farm to school programs working with local schools and an on site daycare, as well as treehouse agritourism, my dreams are mighty high. I cant get there alone, and I am so thrilled to be knee deep in the mud of this adventure I have set out on. I wonder what the future holds! Hard work will pay off! Against all odds. It is really, really, really hard right now. Being a start up business with no big financial backround coming into farming hasnt been easy, but we sure are killing it. We are working with NOFA to get certified organic this year, as if the label means anything in reality- but we need it to reach all of you wonderful people that trust in the label because you havent learned the truth yet. We can't wait to meet you and show you what real meat is supposed to taste like!
